What Is A Mobile Notary?
A mobile notary is a notary public, commissioned by their state, who will travel (for a varied fee) to your home or office to notarize documents ranging from wills and affidavits, to mortgage documents. Most mobile notaries public make a living traveling to clients’ homes to sign mortgage transactions. Notaries usually base their fee on the distance they must travel to meet with the client, and the laws specific to their state.
Why Use A Mobile Notary?
If you are a mortgage broker, or escrow officer, or any professional in the mortgage industry using a mobile notary for your loan closings can greatly increase customer satisfaction. Even though the borrower may have to pay an extra fee for the service, they get to sign when and where they dictate. Signing with a mobile notary is always an option you should present to your borrowers.

Diversify in '08 :) Notary Signing Agents (edit/delete)
DIVERSIFY>>>> when the market is slow make sure that you have diversified. Go to Senior centers, doctor offices, local construction companies, leave your business cards. Do not only sign up with respected Signing Services. Sign up on the internet with other Notary sites. I do not advertise in the yellow pages phone book. It is rather expensive for a 1/4 year. Get listed on Google and yahoo. Notary Depot and gomobilenotary are both sites that I am listed on and get calls from community members. Just remember to diversify in 2008. Start your own blog on the internet and list your home town and what you do. When somebody searches google for your needed services your blog should come up. Keep going and don’t give up when times are slow. There are other ways to make money as a Notary.
Happy New Year to all of You.

With the general decline in business, what paid sites are notaries using that are reliable in generating new business?

I have been advertising on a site called needAnotary.net for over a year and receive pretty good leads quite regularly. I’ve also found a couple repeat customers that use me exclusively. Recently they introduced me to another real estate site (Activerain) which I joined and I have also found beneficial for new business.

I tried 123notary.com and dropped them as I never got calls willing to pay a reasonable price. It seemed I was always negotiating lower fees probably, because my listing was always listed at the bottom of the proverbial deck. I felt I was getting pinched for extra money to rank well in the search results.

Gogetnotary.com is a pretty good site and dependable. NotaryRotary.com is a joke from my experience. They are more about selling you notary supplies rather that marketing my services. I don’t tend to like sites with upgrades. They also have a hierarchically listing system which keeps me on the bottom much like 123notary.com. Most of my low priced offers and non-payers used to come from that site. I no longer use them. Gas cost too much to travel for minimal fees.

Right now I'm down to two paid sites: gogetnotary.com and needanotary.net

What sites have others found beneficial that delivers quality leads?

I want to use another one or two, but don't want to waste my time or money.
